OCR: autopsy 2:35 DESCRIPTION OF BODY. Continued exam of the chest cavity reveals numerous minute fractures and multiple tiny fragments of lead along a direct wound path. This "snowstorm pattern" is con- sistent with the bullet path of a high-powered rifle. The wound path passes directly through the heart. Profuse internal hemmorhaging along the path and severe lacerations of the right and left ventricles, indicate severe disruption of the organ. The exit wound is slightly more pronounced than the entrance, with slightly lacerated edges and .36 inch diameter. The cleanliness of the sites, especially the lack of a pronounced and important exit wound, indicate that the wound was likely caused by a full metal jacketed bullet meant for military purposes. The bullet was probably shot from a .30-06 high-powered rifle at a range of less than thirty yards. No soot or gunpowder are present. This indicates that the shot was not made at close range (a range of less than fifteen feet). Ambient air temperature at the time the body was found was measured at 62 degrees Fahrenheit. Taking into consideration victim's size and weight, and our- rent state of rigor mortis, (at 12:30 PM) time of death is estimated between five and seven o'clock in the evening on May 23. PAGE
